    04 disco 2 td5 fuel lines drama

hi guys, I have a td5 disco that has a leaking fuel line between the pump in the tank and the filter. apparently this was a recall(the hoses rub through on an abs sensor cable) and it has already been fixed under that recall in 04, has anyone else had this issue and how hard is it to remove the fuel tank to get to the lines for inspection. any help would be greatly apprieciated

Hey nojeff01, I had the same problem about 2 or 3 times over 250k. In the boot area under the carpet there is an inspection plate. It's a little fiddly to get to but easier than dropping the tank. I have cut a hole in the carpet and made an inspection hatch. I have also cut strips of rubber an gently slid them under the fuel lines so the lines no longer rub. Seems to be holding up well so far.

My 2002 just did this at 160KK at El Questro.
I got the mechanic in Kununurra to wrap foam tape around the pipe( high pressure to motor) . I noted he also ziptied the loom to the foam tape to prevent movement.
The loom in my case was AFAIK an air suspension height sensor wire as it terminated at a plug and was unused. This is at the RH corner of the tank where the pipe turns along the chassis.

yeah that's them.you'd think they would have used hard lines in later models after all the issues they've had
