    Interesting Modification To A-frame Balljoint

This looks interesting, i would think that doing this would introduce Swarf in to the space between the ball and its socket creating all kinds of problems

After taking it off the vehicle why wouldn't you just renew it anyway with a grease-able unit ????

If you coated the drill bit and then the tap with axle grease before using them, all the swarf would get caught up in the grease and then (hopefully) you'd get none inside the joint....

    This.

I installed a greqse nipple in a Bearmach adjustable ball joint, but I popped the cover plate out, drilled and tapped it, and cleaned all the factory grease out and packed it with my preferred lube.

    Spot on Spudboy

The grease on the drill and tap is the way to go if you want to do this mod. I have used the same method many times in the workshop.
