    D2 TD5

Hi all just after suggestions on a issue that have risen on my D2.... I have a intermittent problem where, when accelerating it stutters and other times it's fine? I've also found it to be flat and speed starts to die on hills? I was thinking maybe injector harness as it's a 2002 and not sure if it's been done, and also any help on where else to check, asides from fuel pump and filter... Thanks

Check that the waste gate on the turbo isn't seized.
There was a video on Youtube showing how to do it some CRC and a set of vice grips can do wonders.

    just interested.

how easily should you be able to move the waste gate by hand?

or in other words how do you tell if it seized?

Thanks djam when the problem started I put a boost gauge in so I could see and it seems to be boosting ok.... Plus that's the strange thing some times no issues will run good and rev well and other times it starts to stutter between 2 and 3000 on the rev counter when acceralting? Do you think it could be a seized waste gate??

I had a similar problem when my wastegate modulator failed. Its worth bypassing it and seeing how the car drives.

I am not sure what the problem is.
The waste gates are quite hard to move, as singlecell says check the modulator I forgot about that as I have got a Defender and they don't have one.

With the seized waste gate the computer detects over boost and cuts fuel thus causing the issue.
