In my 89 RR, the original flapper style ECU was mounted under the drivers seat. It was about an hours worth of work to mount it under the dash on the right side of the steering column. You no longer get air coming out of this vent but to be honest you really cant tell the difference because its normally so poor anyway.

NRMA cost was $240.00
The Stealer cost was $235
All they did was replace the coil and blow out the ECU and brake my drivers seat and the seat box....Thanks Ford Lithgow
I noticed the drive home was quiet due to the fact that the radio's ****ed too. Has power just wont search channels or make any noise also wont turn off, in a word... ****ED!

will it fit in the centre console or better still on the back of it?
that should be high enough. after all it is a 4wd. if you plan on going through anything deeper than that you should really be in a tinnie.
the specified wading depth on a landy is only 50 cm.
and thats probably the reason why they mount the damn things at 51 cm
off the ground. or....is it because the wiring harness was too short to reach any higher that they specified a wading depth of 50 cm?
I think the best place for it would be behind the rear view mirror.
Now although the ECU is vulnerable, what about the electronic acclerator pedal, and another electronics?

Your are probably right RMP, but I have not known of this being a problem, on the other hand there are many instances of ECUs spitting the dummy after a bath.
Come to think of it, my accelerator pedal has been wet quite often as Kimba usually leaks all over my foot after heavy rain (sign of affection?).
