Hi guys I am in the process of buying a 12 volt air compressor to go onto the disco (permantly fixed) for inflating tyres and general use when camping etc is there a reasonable brand out there which you are using and what to stay away from ?

SubscriberI have a Dr Air Pro Flow....They retail around the $300 mark.
It came out on top in 4WD Action test...I've had mine for 18 months and no problems so far.
I will be hard fitting mine in the D2 soon and I will also fit an air tank.

Wow that Dr Air Pro Flow sounds amazing, anyone know if it can be used in conjunction with a tank? Currently searching bit can't see it written anywhere...

SubscriberCan't see why not...just needs a pressure switch to tell it turn itself off when the tank is full.
It would also need good ventilation and be mounted safely as the cylinder head gets hot.
It would need to have sufficient gauge wiring and a fused supply.

There are cheaper kits available on eBay and elsewhere on the net but I would err with caution and do your research first.

Oh yup, those kits look the go. Probably would just do it all myself, I can source the electrical stuff easily.

Supporterany on know if you can mount an air compressor in side the empty spare seat container in a D2? or would heat be an issue?
