    County door Rust

    Does any one have any suggestions on how to restore rusted out doors? Other than buying door shells that sell for about $600- $750 each.

    Basically you can poke a screwdriver through the rust in the door bottoms.

    I imagine it would be difficult, but not impossible ... easy if you're a panel beater.

    Need to remove the Al skin to expose the steel door frame, then cut out any rust and rebuild frame with suitable steel.

    Probably need to remove the window and mechanism also.

    Wouldn't need to be too fussy ... it's a Landy

    You can buy the steel box sections for repairs in most LR suppliers.

    OR buy a set of Series doors with good frames / bad skins and use the frame to repair the County doors.

    BTW - I have a spare set of S111 door bottoms for sale [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

    Hi mate, my 86 county had the same problem. It is easier ans cheaper to find a wreack and buy the doors. A guy in melb Toorak tractor company is your man he is in the phone book. He is a no bul**** man and wont stuff you around. Deano

    Have you checked a price for new doors with a landrover dealer. I was quoted $450 for defender door shells. County door should be around the same.
