How much grease for tie rod?

I purchased some after market tie rod ball joints and I'm replacing the ones on the steering drag link. They have a grease nipple on them. How much grease should I be pumping in? I'm conscious I don't want to under OR over do it... 1-2 pumps? Until I can feel it in the boot?

How often should I grease them?

Also what are the thoughts on a random after market brand? I would probably by genuine now, but I bought these years ago, so I might as well use them now.

There are two purposes for greasing joints. One is for lubrication and the other is for cleansing. Pump fresh grease in until you just see clean fresh grease oozing out. Any dirt trapped in the old grease is thus expelled.

    however it's spelt

It is a good thing Ron has given me permission to act on his behalf when he is otherwise occupied.

That is a practical correction as it will help the dude know exactly what to look for

This on the other hand is an act to try and show ones superiority over another human, with what can be shown on the net, had it been in verbal, we would not have this problem, I think stuff like this shows large amounts of self gratification and its disgusting, but that's just me

I've had this with Ron, Its easy to show your talent to the mother England language on the computer, but unfortunately, what it actually does is shy's away some very talented people from these forums due to being chastisced about trivial rubbish.....I've spoken with many people, much more talented than most on this board, who are not interested because of it....which is a huge shame as there would be so much more to learn technically

Although meant in jest, its really is a terrible representation

Fortunately, the member at whom the comment was directed seems to have taken it in the spirit in which it was intended.

My correction was a response to Bacicat's jocular claim to have "done a Ron".

The suggestion that there is any attempt to demonstrate superiority is a gross over-reaction and misinterpretation. I have previously explained in great detail why this is the case.

I find it very difficult to believe that a little joke between Bacicat and me would prevent anyone with an interest in Land Rovers from participating in the forum.

You may not see it, but it does...just my experience, there is some amazing people with land rover creations that have lurked here, and have very limited posts or don't bother at all, because of the banter about grammar and spelling, some very talented people are not very good at the English language but a lot better at other things than you or I

What one see's as a joke another may not, thing is, in real life away from the keyboard you could not patronize anyone about there spelling around a campfire, why not keep it that way behind the keyboard?

I've also explained this to Ron a few times over the years

Ok, I think everyone's made their point. Although the comments were made in good natured jest, I also understand that offence can be caused even though it is not intended. If anyone has taken offence, then I apologise for that - it certainly was not my intent - nor I doubt vnx205's either.
