puma emobiliser - URGENT help required

    Hi guys.
Im a little stuck. In kruger national park. Im driving a mate pumu 110 2.4, it is now the second time that I got into the car and it is as dead as can be. Seems like it is the emobiliser unit that kicks in and emobilising the car. Net even my hazards lights are working. Last time it happened the alarm when of. So I disconnected the batteries. The alarm was still going off then after about 10 minutes I reconnected the battery and a few minutes later the hazards came on. I got in and tried to crack but no go. Emobiliser kicked in again. 2-3 minutes later the hazards came on an I was able to use the remote to open the car again and this time it started.

    1. How can I override the emobiliser
    2. How can a disable it all together

    Thanks

    The Entertainer

Someone with more experience will jump in.
I presume there are no interfering wireless signals as you are in the bush.
You can try pressing the fob while it's in the driver side wheel arch, closer to the receiver, in case the signal is weak.
You really need the EKE code, to reset it using the key. If your lucky your mate may have recorded it somewhere. I believe there is a spot in the handbook?

    Good luck!
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

As stated, you need god EKA code to disable.

Are the blinkers flashing when the remote (eventually) works? Do you need to press the remote button more than once? These are signs of a flat remote battery, which could be your issue? It's a CR2032 from memory, make sure you change it in close proximity to the car - there's a procedure in the owner's manual (if you have it?).
