    Distributor module querie

    Next question in the long list of questions..
    the dizzy has 2 wires coming from it , can i connect a crane fireball ignition ( XR700 ) module to it and have it working ok?

    You running points? ... Nothing wrong with points, great non-fuss easy fix system.


    Personally tho ... I think you would get excellent value if you replace the vacuum advance and ensure that it's working.

    Crane XR700 runs an optic pickup last time I looked unless they've changed. Short answer then is "no". That's an approx 1985 carby RRC magnetic pickup dissy setup which uses a Chev HEI module in a tin box under the coil on the lh wheel arch. You can wire it instead to a bosch BIM024 module and coil as used in 80s holdens falcons magnas sigmas corollas and nissan bluebirds with the aussie made bosch electronic dissys.

    I have pulled the lid off the dizzy and yes , magnetic pickup. There is no coil or module on the vehicle , so i guess i have to ask , does anyone have a 2nd hand working one they will part with? Prefer brissy , ipswich even better.
