    help with radiator leak

    G'day all
TD5 discovery 11. Has anyone had a problem with the water inlet from the header tank where the little hose attaches to the radiator. The little plastic piece where the hose attaches to the radiator has snapped off!!!! Water squirting out. Its hard to get at to glue it back in, seems a very fragile set up. Does anyone have any ideas on fixing it?

    Regards
    Bob

    hi there,

a photo would begood. however if you remove the plastic cowling covering the rad, then everything gets a whole lot simpler to access.

araldite is possibly the only thing that will work and the 34 hour type not the 5 minute stuff.

    cheers. jerry

Thanks for your reply Jerry. I glued it up today "Rapid fix" some new super glue that certainly looks good. Time will tell!

Watch the video RapidFix Australia l Adhesive,Contact adhesive, Super glue, Superglue.

very common for that hose to break,,
you need to replace it with new rubber hose all the way across the to the reservoir

    Thanks mate
My hose is a soft rubber or plastic. The bit that broke is where it attaches to the radiator. The little plastic nipple snapped off.

Another thing I've found is the battery goes flat in four days if I don't start it??? I had the battery tested, nothing wrong with it. Surely there shouldn't be that much drain?

something must be draining it but check the simple stuff first.

Yep agree must be something draining it,like a glove box light not turning off or something.
I have had mine parked at an airport long term car park for over 4 weeks and got back and started.

Well total of 1.12 amp drain!!! I found the fuse with the leak. The fuse has interior lights, radio & Engine remobiliser. I'll charge the battery in my key first and see what happens.
