    Strange clutch noise.

    Hello all,
Recently I noticed that when I pushed the clutch pedal in on the 120 (isuzu and lt95) that it went click. I could even hear when the engine was running so it is pretty loud. It happens just once at the start of pushing the pedal down.

Last night I had the clutch slave cylinder out (for a kit) and I could make the noise by pushing hard on the push rod. By peering in the hole i with one of those boroscope I could see that the throw out arm jumps vertically when the noise occurs. I don't think it should be able to do this but I don't know how or why. All I can think is that the mount ball can move but I can't find in my manual how it is held. Otherwise its got me stumped. I don't even know if it is a problem.
So if someone has come across this before..... Or if you know how the pivot ball is mounted to the bell housing.
    Any info/suggestions appreciated.

    Daniel.

Could be a couple of things Daniel, but most likely the pivot pin is loose in the bellhousing (a common Isuzu problem). The old Isuzu shake rattle and roll eventually loosens the pivot pin in the hole. Solution is to weld a bolt thread onto the end of the pin, drill the hole right through the housing and secure it with a nyloc nut and loctite. Other things it could be are the plastic sleeve on the throwout bearing breaking up, or the nylon cup in the fork disintegrating (where it sits on the pivot pin). The fork is secured to the pivot pin with a spring clip. Unfortunately all require the removal of the box to fix but you can do it by moving the box back a bit without dropping it out completely. Get the boroscope back in there and see if you can see where the problem is.
    Cheers......Brian

Had a further look and as far as I can tell the throw out bearing and holder look fine. Must be the support. Couldn't actually see that as there isn't enough space around the through out arm to get the past.

Looks like more work coming up.
