Unfortunately, from what I understand, root is a definite requirement to get around this problem. All the Apps I've found require it:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=jrummy.sdfix
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=nextapp.sdfix
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...t.extcardpatch

Fair enough then I did abit of a search and all apps I found also required a rooted device.
Just as well I still have an older device not running 4.4

I have ran OziCE for years and was extremely happy with it, so I expected the same from OziExplorer Android, but I was disappointed. I have an Android Tablet(running Ozi V.1.23) and find Ozi Android buggy, When I select more or a less detailed map it hangs and cant find any maps unless I go through the menu and manually load them. You will be lucky if you receive any help or backup from OziExplorer, as I and many others have tried(google it), so you will have to wing it and try and resolve any issues yourself. But in saying that, others from what I have read over the net have had a good run with it, personally I have had just had a better run with OziCE(but you need a windows CE OS for that).

    Hi pawl,
Have you got your configuration setup so it points to your maps and data?

I had some similar problems 'til I sorted that put, now v1.23 is very stable.
I'm running it on an 8" GalaxyNote, and now my old ce unit just sits on the shelf. No way would I go back to Win CE.

    Cheers

Yep gone through all that, it may work once and then I think I have fixed it then it goes on the blink again, so it mainly gets used by kids now. One thing that annoys me with the Ozi Android is that you can only use it on one device as it needs the device ID to purchase, so this I assume means my licence cannot be used on another device.

    Hi,
Ozi is device specific I suspect, but I'm sure Des would respond to an email indicating you have changed the device and de-activate the old copy and activate a new one for you.

    cheers

If you want to make ozi faster then download the screen designer and get rid of all the useless screens and put the relevant buttons were you want
