Thread: Valve cap somewhere in engine

SO putting head back on ended up having one of them stupid valve caps slide down the push rod tube and end up somewhere in my engine. I pulled off sump well as much as you can with it still in vehicle and it hasn't made it all the way through, have blasted with air and no success there either.
Am wondering any other ideas for getting it out or how much damage it can end up doing if its left floating somewhere around the engine.

Done the same thing when I did my head. I used one of those long bendy mangnetic tools Down the push rod tubes and was lucky enough to pull it out

Didnt think of that but i not sure if I will be so lucky as its gone in so far it cant be seen its past the part the push rod sits on.
How far down had yours got may have to go pick up a bendy magnetic tool
