Find my bush size
someone is producing modified ball joints. Saw it somewhere in internetland recently
Hey Guys,
I have been trying to transfer a 5 inch lift from an old classic into the d1. I have a custom made A-frame but due the resizing of the mounting bolts I am having a hard time locating new bushes ( 50mm od 19 mm id 54 mm width). I have done some googling from what I can tell all the 5 inch lifts etc don't alter the A-Frame setup at all in Disco's, I know in the old classic we had bind up issues on full travel which ripped the bracket off the housing hence why I got a new style A-Frame built. Have they altered the A-frame/Ball joint design from the old classic to the discovery 1 to allow for the articulation of 5 inch lifts ?
Thanks

No LR did not alter the design so some numpty can put in a 5" lift that the vehicle was never designed for.
But why would you make a custom a frame with un-common sized bushes, i would use the original size if i was building it.

I agree Loanrangie but as I let a nissan man build the back end for me I was pretty ****ed off today when I discovered he used a nissan bush ( which is can;t alter for the newer disco) when I stated it was to use LR bushes this was done 12 years ago now so no call back.. I guess a 5 inch lift is like doing a 350 chev conversion hey
Nup. You buy one that already has a 350 and comes with a roadworthy.
cheers, DL
