    D2 Question 1: Springs.

When the SLS died in my D2, I decided to give it coils all round, with a lift. I used King springs, with coil over air bags on the rear. Car has been waylaid for about 18 months, and now it's back. I'd forgotten just how HARD the springs are. Much to hard, really. Does anyone have a spring type they like? I want it to be more supple. Right now its like it's riding on Mallee roots. Then I'll put in the extended dampers and brake lines I should have done when I did it.

Anyone want to buy a set of Kings that have done maybe 10,000k?

Do you know what spring rates you fitted? I recall reading Tombie recommending 220 lb on front and variable 300-340 on back.

Also remove or deflate the air bags to minimum. If you have coils then only need to inflate the air bags if you have a heavy load.

Unfortunately the box has gone to God, and I didn't really pay much attention. I bought them through Roverland without a great deal of thought, something I'm paying for now. The car is now rigid, not supple, and the ride is awful. The articulation is also reduced IMO.
So, I guess what I'm asking is what spring rates do the gurus among you recommend?

Yeah, I only run a residual pressure in the bags unless I'm towing.

    Hmm.. I'll check that out.

BTW, I hope I didn't tread on any protocol toes by starting a new "springs" thread. I just didn't find the answer I was looking for.
