    Rear seat removal

    G'day all,
I want to remove the rear drivers side back seat. Is it as easy as it looks, just those two screws or are there hidden snags that I should know about. I want to be able to put them back later on. Cheers.

Mick. If Disco 1, Yes its as easy as it looks, just the screws holding the front pivot point. Other vehicles I cannot verify. My left seat is almost always out to allow a seat in the back with room on the left. Apparently, with the seat belt still in place it is regarded as a non-permanent removal and is no issue with technical requirements.

not too difficult! be aware there are fairly strong springs attatched that you need to watch when refitting they can be a little difficult.

easy as...mine go in and out several times a year

the weight of the seat holds the spring open.

they are quite heavy.....dont be afraid to ask for assistance getting them out.

when I put the bolts back in I put a swivel eye on each side for tie down.

Look in each corner of your load area. They are swivel eyes of a sort.

If you make up the tool for removal out of some 25 x 25 rhs its a piece of cake to remove the seat. Not need to worry about the springs and fighting them.
