My thermostat housing (on a V8 3.5 but disco the same I believe) is corroded and leaking at hose and face so rather than try to patch it up was trying to find a replacement that not cost an arm and leg.
Seems all other makes of housings are less than $50 but for a land rover one we are talking $100 plus!
Does anyone know if given the origin of the engine if there is a Chev/GM part (or other) that is equivalent to the Land Rover housing?
Mine looks like this on the inside
And outside
Note the sensor is not needed on my set up - just need the housing and main top hose connection.
I could clean up the outside so not so rough and thus not leak at the hose but the inside does not leave much meat to seal on and not keen to introduce steel putty to build it up into the water cavity
Thanks in advance
