Would the disco diffs go into a series vehicle? What would need to be done? Matt
I'm guessing the rover diff in the front will swap over, but the salisbury in the back. Unless you've got fine spline disco centres, when nothing will swap over.

This thing will go faster with a tdi. And cruise at better speeds with a 5 spped. I doubt you'll get it engineered without better brakes.. you'll be converting discs next..

Ask the engineer you'll use for a certificate what he'll want before spending any money.

    Regards

    Thanks Tusker, will do. Matt

You'd have to use the diffs out of a S3 stage 1, as they have the 3.5 ratio and have the leaf spring mounts and are shorter. And the front diff has the CV joint which you need for the constant 4wd.

What is the timeline on this project?

I have a stage 1 that will be coiled at some stage, so i will be selling a set of diffs.

You cant use a rear stage 1 as the springs are outboard of the chasis. So unless you just make new spring mounts to suit the sailsbury, to just use a rover rear diff.

Not sure Dave, dad hasnt decided what he wants to do yet. He is going to check out the Landy 6 and see how it is, according to the odometer it has only done 74000miles. Matt

You'll have noticed how challenging its going to be accomplishing this feat.
You'll have noticed how many people say "Why bother - just get a Defender"

Just think though - how many other Tdi Series trucks are there ?

I dont think it has. From what i can gather it hasnt been on the road much in its life. According to the guy who i got it off it was bought new by the railroads, it was used by them for 2yrs, then involved in an accident, a worker pulled out in traffic and a bike rider hit is in the side, it was then off the road whilst the inquest went ahead, as the rail roads were trying to sack the worker or something. The the guy i got it off, bought it at auction, after it was fixed, he used it for a few years and then bought a diesel county. From that point on it sat in his yard and rotted. Matt
