    Wesfil Filters

Anybody use these? I've always just used Ryco, believing they were OK. I must admit, I've never really considered sticking to genuine, but I'm not much of a mechanic!

I just noticed that Wesfil (who I'd never heard of) are owned by GUD, the same parent company as Ryco, but less than half the price for some of them.

I used them on my cheaper cars ( those with over 200,000 km) to save some coin, but on the good ones (Landrover, Honda) I use oem. The price of a filter versus the price of an engine. Its like having a performance car and putting on the cheapest tyres. That being said, Wesfil quality is ok.

ryco getting very expencive, but they are constant quality.
they can give big discounts from retail-so price is not a measure of quality.

I have been getting westfill cab filters from our contract supplier when they don't have other brands, my preferred replacement.
the hilux cab filter looked the same as the genuine and had more surface area.
