265 x 70 x 16
265 = section width.
70 = hight of side wall as apercentage of section width IE: Hight = 70% of 265.
16 = rim diam.
over all hight = 16 inches. + (185.5mm x2) = 763mm = 31.2 inches aprox.
Michael.
I am fitting new tyres to the SII Discovery and i won't to know how do you work out the height of the tyre using the sizes (eg) our Disco has as standard 245/70R/16 and we are replacing them with 265/70R/16 BFG/ATs, so in inches how high are these tyres i think the height of the standard road tyres are 30.5, i'm trying to get more clearance :roll: is there a formular to work this out or do you just get out the tape measure. :?:

If you go to www.bfgoodrich.com.au and select the tyre, it gives all the tech details including rolling circumference and diameter.

Discowhite,
Strictly speaking yes, you and a lot of others. 15mm + or - placarded size
Those of the larger wheel society are vulnerable to the Police armed with tape measures.
Mine are undersized so I checked and I'm ok as I am only 10mm under the placarded size but I noticed that the speed rating is Q and not S. 8O
I wonder about your changing to NSW rego and whether this is likely to be an issue?
