I drove a couple of LT77's and hate where reverse, notchy as hell just like the LT95 4 speeds. Then went out and bought an auto, gald I did.

I now have a 83 with a LT95 4 speed. I was sure when I got the next one if manual it was a 95 and not a 77. If the latter, I would of converted my ZF auto over quick smart

In ther 77's defense, I don't really know people who have had big issues with them so they must have some strengths :?:

My LT77 is pretty good, if a little rough around the edges. Sure it's no R380 but that's not an option with the 200Tdi engine. And yeah, I have selected R instead of 1st once or twice. But only from a standstill, I hasten to add.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

An interior reversing hotn... another LR innovation.

It's not the pedestrian's business if you're about to run them over - after all you are probably landed gentry and they are simply the working class .

EDIT: Sorry - got a little off topic there, blame Pedro. Back to the thread....

Hi guys, could someone tell me more about this drilled gear on the back of the gear box? I have a 86 county It has a 5speed santana gearbox. Does my 5th gear need fixing before it breaks? Thanks Deano
