you may just need to nip the bolts up
I use permatex sealant on my maxi flanges
Hi guys,
Have oil leaking badly from the huge axle cover onto the wheel and ground. Can anyone advice if they use the same bearing, gaskets and seal as a normal diff. Anyone have a schematic drawing of the maxidrive upgrade diff?
Thanks
Ray

x3, permatex ultra blue for mine
Many thanks to those replies. You guys were spot on. Thought it was big dollars and time coming up.
Yep, nip up the bolts..
My question is, are the hub seals etc. standard LR ones? I was changing rear pads on my D1 and I noticed one of the hub seals has started leaking
( explains the hot gear oil smell, as the oil gets directly onto the inner pad ). The car has MDE axles and rear locker,
and I don't know if the axle diameter is the same as std.

Yes the oil seal size are the same size as originally. Just when you replace be sure to use the earlier type from the county which is double lipped. Keeps oil in and dirt/mud out.
Cheers Scott
With a locker it's a good idea to loctite the bolts and torque them to 50 ft/lb. otherwise they keep coming loose.

Thanks folks. I'll pull it down sometime soon. Got plenty of Permatex blue around.
