    Thread for Factory EGT Readings.

I figured I'd start a thread for EGT readings from factory (or close to it) engines.

I plugged a laptop with VDCS diagnostics into my skoda tdi and ran it up some hills with foot flat in 6th gear.
    I hit 796C.
    Boost was ~22psi.
This engine has a DPF and I believe it (intentionally) runs hotter/richer than similar engines without.

    Who's next.
    Anyone plugged into a TDV6, SDV6 or SDV8?

I would love to know some readings for the TDi300, but I cannot find where to plug the abacus in.

I measured a max of 635 C (pre-turbo) on my Defender 200TDI. You have to be a little careful comparing the non-electronic engines as the max EGTs vary with engine speed.

On 2.2 litre Defender Puma with the probe inserted into the blanking plug on top of the turbo outlet, I get up to 500 degrees when really working hard, towing a trailer up a long hill.

when i had the 2 door hardtop heading down to cooma on the long slow hills near canberra i think it was and i was racing luigi in the bread truck and muddy in his v8 110, mine got to 740 and i took my foot off the loud pedal so it wouldn't go over 700 and still beat the 110 a couple of times...

    luigi wasn't real happy either

the v8 110 won more than it lost though it has to be said
