So I'm on the home straight with this project.
Another question if I may.....with the plug on the 93 RR EFI loom.
I've tapped into the fuel pump line (white/purple) and the ignition line (white/slate) but I'm looking for the main "constant" power line. All I can see on that plug is a fairly small diameter brown wire and a larger orange/green wire. The orange green looks like the one I want but not sure.
Thought's?

IT'S ALIVE!!!
A big thank you to bee utey for all your help. Very much appreciated mate.
I'm stoked! Haven't driven it yet, still a few "loose end's" to tidy up but man does it feel (and sound) good to have a V8 back in the family.

Yet another question.....coolant temp sensor?
I've hooked into the 3.9 manifold sensor with the 110 loom connection but the reading is off the dial within a few minutes so pretty sure there's an issue with the gauge or the sender.
How did you overcome this one bee utey?
Cheers

A logical solution and one that did occur to me, however it appears that the sender from the carby manifold is a different thread size to the one from the efi manifold.

Smiles all round!
Everyone is very happy to have "the dinosaur" back on the road.
I did do a few other things while I had it apart like new springs and extended koni's, 4 bolt steering box, put on some new 255/85 R16 BFG KM2's to replace the old set which are still ok but getting low (done 90,000k's) partially rebuilt the transfer case, gave it a wash, cleaned the windows
Had a couple of teething problems. Originally had the MAF mounted right on the end of the plenum but it felt a little lack luster and was pulsing when foot flat to the boards. Moved it back about 400mm and much better.
Fuel pressure was a little low so I set it to 38psi on the gauge but unsure how accurate the gauge is (Malpassi adjustable fuel reg) and I advanced the timing a bit. Feels a lot better.
Stepper motor might be a little sticky. Seems to take it's time coming back down to idle when stopped at the lights etc. I did clean it and it got better but still does it occasionally.
She'll easily get up to 110kmh in 3rd and cruising in 4th at 100kmh is great. It feels right in the sweet spot with 1.174 ratio between 90kmh and 110kmh in 4th which is good for overtaking.
Other than that she turns heads, especially around here with all the Patrols and Cruisers and can't wait to get everyone out camping again.
Stoked!![]()
