G'day Michael, There should be a gasket in between them. Easy remedy is to unbolt the unit, clean up the mating surfaces and apply a good sealant. Then bolt it back together. The hydraulic leaks usually require seal/o ring replacement.
Hi everyone
Ive just bought a 130 with a maxi drive pto winch. Its got a few oil leaks from the valve body which I can sort no worries but its leaking quite a bit of oil from where the unit bolts to the lt230. Im not sure yet if its transfer or hydraulic oil.
So is there a gasket or just sealant between the transfer case and pto unit or pump?
Ive never had anything to do with pto winches so all help will be greatly appreciated.
The set up is the same as the one in the pic below.

Hi guys
Can anyone tell me if the pto adapter that bolts to the transfer case has a seal that can allow hydraulic oil to leak from between the adapter and transfer case?
Or is it purely relying on the gasket seal between the 2?
Ive never had one apart and I cant find a break down or fitting instructions for the pto adapter.
