Scorcher Dizzy Install
Attempted to install a Scorcher dizzy to my 95 3.9 v8 today. I got the dizzy a few years ago second hand but recently got it adjusted and bench tested and everything is supposed to be fine with it.
On my motor the wiring to the dizzy is two wires red and blue going through a connector similar to a deutsche connector. I didn't want to cut the plug off the wiring loom so decided to keep this set up.
I cut the female end off the old dizzy and mounted it on the scorcher. The scorcher has two wires, pink and green. The pink one is apparently the +ve from the coil. I soldered up the wires from the female end of the connector to the wires on the scorcher pink to red and green to blue.
No spark, I assumed that the red wire was +ve feed.
Got my multimeter and checked voltage at the male end of the connector with ignition on and the blue wire was the only one showing 12v, so reversed the wiring. Still no spark.
When I say no spark, I am testing it with a plug against an earth and getting nothing.
Motor was running fine before this.
I must be missing something (yes a brain but I knew that already)
Any ideas ????
