I can only say people who have them have told me they are quite good, hence I put on a set myself.
I took mine for a 500 km run the other day, mixture of high speed highway mountain windy roads 300kms and 200 kms of corrigated and rocky bush tracks and they performed pleasingly. I however did not go rock climbing Hard Core. So if Hard core is your game then maybe better shocks would fit the bill, but most people don't do hard core stuff.

1st hand no... I would never put low end product onto my vehicle.

2nd hand - as in been IN the vehicle, Know the owner(s) and been on trips with them... YES...

Seen the damage and failures 1st hand - yes...

Try outback roads with some wash outs, fast dirt with corrugations, and then go flexing..

Seals will fail, shocks will fade and mounts will snap...

If a shock can not sustain all these forces - its not a good shock.



As a note on this brand gear: Its amazing the following this low end gear has recently gained - decent margins for dealers seems to be the driving force - must be, because its only a % up from ****part on quality and performance.

Their welding is poor, their arms bend - recent thread on that - the shocks fade and snap mounts...

Their shock rates are not matched to their coils (or anyone else) - their coils collapse/sag far earlier than the better products and their protective gear - oh good grief - poorly mounted so it does more damage, poor weld quality and finish that rots away within a few months...

Last mob that made stuff like this had an eight-legged carnivorous anthropod as its logo.

All for the sake of a (falsely) saving a few $$$

When a +50mm lift is fitted, is it necessary to fit extended brake lines, & abs / traction control lines. Also, is there much more stress on the drive shaft joints? Thinking about doing my D2, Dobinson springs, Raw nitro max shocks. Bob

A 2" is the limit before needing this...

Seriously It would be interesting to send this off to the distributers of these shocks and see what they have to say and how many warranty claims they have had And challenge them to do the Canning and other tracks , it they stand by their products and all is proven it would certainly boost sales for them. I wonder if they would be up to it.
Maybe a 4x4 magazine could do shocker test comparison.

BTW. I fitted King springs, supporting a Aussie manufacturing company, are they rubbish also? any issues about them falling apart?

I did find a shocker test review but it didn't include terras. Again these so called tests can be flawed as they don't test over an extended time. They don't continue the tests in real conditions over 1000's of kms.

Interesting TJM come from China and others brands from South America ( no mention of which lucky Sth American country)

I designed and had Kingy make me custom rate stuff for years...
He also has supply contracts to ARB.

The South American manufacturer is Copac who did (may still do) make TJM and several other rebranded offerings.

They (Copac) made great street stuff at one stage...

And another tip:
Avoid foam filled gear - it fails fast and will not recover fully once it cools!

A member posted on here about shocks sold by one of the rally teams that he's had a good run with,can't remember the name.Foam filled shocks were designed to give cheap shocks a cheap way to give some degree of fade resistance but doing it on the cheap,notice I used the word cheap a few of times. Pat
