Then when you're told you'll rub your face up a brickwall knowing you could have fixed it at less cost.

dont feel to bad my disco died in a carpark 3k's
from home. ii took 2 sec to find the prob(i have a fuel press gage
in the return line) no fuel pressure!!!
ran some wires to the pump and away se went. ended up being a bad
earth at the sender/pump!
I agree with philipA, my disco was doing this also.
filter was full of what looked like rust??? and it was so bad that
the pressure reg was stuck open--no pressure at injectors--and all the injectors have a filter screen in the tops, they were full of
the same crap!
the best thing i ever did was install that gage!

yay!!!
Well got the Rangie back today and the problem was simply the coolant temp sensor had gone kaput! This just told the ECU to pump a ****e load of fuel in, hence fouling the plugs straight away. Now fixed and a quick service done while in there and is running very well now.
Such a simple thing can cause so many problems!!

Told ya it would be the computer getting the wrong squignals.
Thermo time switch and coolant sensor... not much difference between them. Still show what the water temp is doing so the computer can adjust the fueling accordingly.
