    2" Body Lift for County

This has been touched on before.

Does anyone know if anybody makes body lift kits for Defenders.?:
Cousin John is lifting the body of His County as part of a GMC V8 diesel conversion.

As a fall back he has some polyurethane material to make spacers but he wants to know if a kit is available. I have checked the Graeme Cooper and Les Richmond Automotive websites and whilst they have kits for Disco/Range Rovers they are silent on Defender kits.

The main problem with Defender bodies is that they are modular. Lifting them is painfull and no-one (that I know of) will have a kit. You could do it with bushes, but you need to ask yourself, Why lift the body.
A 2" suspension lift will easily allow 35" doughnuts to be fitted. I have 33's on mine and there is stacks of room. Unless you are going 36" or bigger then don't touch a body lift. Even then a 4" suspension job would be better.

It really isnt worth doing on a time / difficutly scale for that amount of gain you get.

His clearances should be fine for the engine and new stuff so unless he wants to consider a full body off rebuild (then re alligning it :x ) then dont even bother.
