Thread: Help re: How to remove Disco II TD5 starter motor

Hi all,

Could someone please tell me the correct procedure to remove the starter motor from a Disco TD5.

Sounds like these could be different to the norm ?? :?

For every other motor I just

disconnect the battery, both terminals :wink:

disconnect the power and trigger leads from the solenoid

undo the bolts (sometimes wish they put them were you could get at them easily)

remove starter

Install is the reverse of the above.

Am I close on this one or way off ?

Really must stick my head under a TD5 so I know what everyones looks like. Luck probably has the starter jammed in hard behind the exhaust manifold like my GM so you need to pull half the motor down to get at it. :roll:
