Damn you Sir, kindly leave the stage, you have stolen my line. I use this all the time when potential buyers of Rangies phone me to get advice, and they usually ask"what fuel economy can I expect"

but then,,
after you explain about the scintillating performance and WONDERFUL exhaust note,

they buy it anyway!!!

Just a follow up.

I asked Cousin John about the fuel consumption on his Simpson Desert trip in the County.

He rubbed his stubbled chin for some time before responding:

"Appalling"

So traumatic was the experience that he has expunged this detail from his memory. He muttered "14 mpg on a good day" at some point in the conversation.

I was sorry I raised the subject.

Hence the diesel transplant.

G'day All,
Fuel consumption? I used 46 litres in six hours driving around Stockton beach yesterday, a run from Anna Bay, to the wreck and back via soft dunes and inland tracks, but that included 3 recoveries. Two Nissans & a Prado.

Still the sound and power are worth it!, with the auto & the V8 magic in the soft sand!

Old habits die hard.

but I wonder how many of us use Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) rather than the metric Kilopascals or Bar for tyre pressures. :?

84 v8 county fuel enco????

g'day Folks
The county will probably get similar milage to the 2a with a Holden in it, just that you won't have to flogg it like the Holden to get to 100Kph ops: So driven sensibly it should return from 15 to 19 on highway and 12-15 around town, it will just be a lot more comfortable (Coils, Boosted brakes,Windup Windows) gota be a bonus, and heaps of room underneath to Gas it
Cheers
