Refering to a previous comment about mp3 quality. As said it is all to do with bitrate. Most programs will copy cd music directly at 128 bps so is eqivalent to cd quality technically. I have found that this does not quite give the same quality as CD. I have converted all my mp3s to 256bps and have found the quality significantly better than even cd. You pick up even the smallest and quietest subtle words and music that I had not ever heard before on CD and even on a top quality stereo. This still allows me to get approximately 140 odd songs onto one 700mb cd. You can go up and down with the bitrate as required. As disc are now only about 30cents each I burn them as I want them and change play lists to suit my requirements. The mp3 units that take cd's are no different to cd head units working exactly the same way, it is just the laser pickup and internal computer can read wav and mp3 files. Just be aware that when copying files from cd to Windows Meadia Player it will copy them as wma files which are similar to mp3's but a large number of mp3 players will not play them, you will have to convert them to mp3 before burning. It is a Microsoft attempt to have its own format that is not compatible with any thing else. If you plan to buy a new head unit I would buy a mp3/cd unit taht way you have the option later if you wish to utilise it.
