Sometimes but I'm trying to break the habit.
Never, infact I never go near it even towing. The ECU gives max enrichment when it sees a full scale on the Throttle position switch and this is way rich I can tell you, so it is a poor practice to drive em like this, not least for fuel econ but for washing the the bores with fuel it doesn't need.
Just did a trip to Cooma and back to Sydney, 13.6l/100km, freeway 110km/h, full load including 4 adults and even mud on the way back.I was very pleased with the results.
I get aprox 18l/100km in the city now that I got the vacuum advance replaced and a decent exhaust system.
Mine must be buggered!
Best I ever got (LPG now) was 20L /100 hwy
avg city 15/16.
However, I bought from a popular LR place , sure the timing was too close to 0. Advanced now somewhat for LPG, getting pretty much same econ on gas as I was on petrol!
Still gunna check the AFM and all that stuff, now that she's due for service.
Just gotta suss out what needs to be done
Regards
Ralph

1-So if we never reach the floor we never get full power?
2-I know this is bad,, is damage done quickly?

That's right fully throttle enrichment is full acceleration and power, The thing is that full throttle enrichment is a fixed amount of fuel and is totally indpendant of some other engine parameters that would normally be considered so it is quite wastefull, It's kind of spit and hope. As for washing the bores , it's a gradual thing so unless you drive it full throttle every gear change I wouldn't loose any sleep. I drive my Jags with full throttle quite often but at around 1000km per year I doubt I'll wear them out and I'm not concerned how much fuel they use.
