    Cleaning Seats

I have just purchased a D3 SE V8 with cloth seats. The exterior of the car and dash, trim etc are immaculate but the front seats, especially the drivers are a bit mank. Unfortunately this happens living in the tropics. I am thinking of putting some sheep skin seat covers in but first wanted to get rid of the odour and clean the seats. I was thinking of hiring one of those steam cleaners. Anyone got any tips.

With Cloth Seats, make sure you if using liquid that you evenly wet the whole seat area, this will avoid the water stain ring. If you only spot clean then you will get a water ring.

My old man is an auto trimmer, and the best way to clean seats is to actually remove the seats from the vehicle, take the covers off...soak them in the tub for 6hrs, then run them thru a gentle wash and gente spin in the washing mashine. (take out any wire braces etc of course) Then dry them in the shade. They come up like new everytime. Then refit the covers.

Having never seen how a disco seatcover is fitted, you may need the special clips and clip pliers for this.

If I was in your boat, id just refit the covers and then take the seats to an auto trimmer to fit the retaining cips...prob do this for 20bux or less if hes tight, and free if hes generous...it aint hard
