Why do you want them to duel? You want them to work together, not fight each other.

I was wondering if any one has a wiring diagram to rig up the duel batteries?

How did you want the batteries setup? You can either have them wired in parallel (which will make 2 batteries look like one) or on a split charge system (where both batteries remain independent).

or via a solenoid, so you choose when the second battery gets charged... It all depends on what you want to use them for..
via a solenoid

I think he meant "Relay"

this is what i use but mainly kick the second battery in for winching..
no fridges etc. here thanks
I've got the Silicon Chip dual battery manager.
Works OK.
Basically you have one battery for starting, and another to run everything else. Another option is a main & aux battery (ie winch, lights etc).
The second battery won't charge till the start battery is >13.5V.
The second battery charges at 2 rates.
When less than 10.5V, it trickle charges (about 2 amps), and when above, it charges at the full rate.
The kit cost about 30ish dollars from D i c k S m i t h and took about 4 hours to put together.
Hi armyrover, could you post both how you intend to use the set up and where you intend to fit the second battery.
There’s a whole host of ways that you can set up a dual battery system and the way you intend to operate from them will play a part in the set up requirements.
Cheers
