    Auto in an 88 RRC

at about 60kph the rangie has a hiccup with the auto not knowing what gear it wants be in

it kicks down then back and down again etc so i usually lean on the pedal a bit to get it to 65 or back off a little..

    any clue?

could i be lucky enough that it is just kick down cable adjustment?

Try tightening the kickdown cable a little, maybe 1 nut thickness at a time.

Sorry dave forgot add that if the symptoms appear worse, then back cable off a little at a time until it feels ok. Make sure that it still kicks back under full throttle, if not you have backed it off too far.

😄 Yep, he dropped for a chat today. I think you got a good buy. It really is one of those 'only used for chuch on Sunday' type of cars. Very well looked after.
