Clutch Slave

    Hey Guys

I need to fit a new clutch slave to my 95 Defender.

Are they easy to bleed or will I need a pressure/vacuum bleeder.

I will probably go with a new one instead of sleeving, not that I have priced yet, I'm hoping new one won't be too many $$$$ against a sleeve n kit.

    Thanks

that relates more to a master not a slave.....bleeding sounds like lots of fun however..... dont recall having that many problems bleeding them.

The link back to 2004 was absolutely fascinating, makes my X1/9 seem almost easy, hahahahaha, sorry (its an X1/9 affliction I have)....

Definitive cross platform parts, good idea, I'll help with this (for what little I might be worth as I'm no expert)

.... like the suggestion (from this site) about the Z9 filter, thankyou...

I bled my defender last week with a pressure bleeder.

However when I had the range rover I was told to bleed the clutch using the following method.

Using a long piece of hose connect one end to the clutch slave bleed nipple open the nipple and with the other end of the hose near the master cylinder suck the fluid through (keep master full and don't swallow ), once you have the fluid up near the master cylinder put the end of the hose into the master cylinder and pump the fluid round the loop.

This method came from the mechanical guru of Asquith and Johnstone a few years back.

    Might be worth a try.
