    td5 defender transfer case into tdi defender

    Happy Friday everyone.

    Im looking at purchasing a tc out of a td5 defender. Is this a straight replacement into my 96 tdi defender. I currently have 1.2:1 disco tc and want to go back to 1.4:1.
    I should never had sold the original tc out of it. Damn it!

    Yes the box is a direct replacement.
    However, you will find a switch for the high/low signal to the td5 ecu.
    This wont affect your tdi at all and ignore it. (of course you could wire up an indicator light from it if you wanted)
    You may also find a different switch fitted for the diff lock engagement depending on what model TD5 the tc came from.
    This will just mean fitting different plug or spade terminals to suit your TDi.
