IMO if the fuel in the tank gets hot that should be sensed by the FT sensor though on the feed... and i've never seen a case when the FT reading to be higher than the ECT reading, which is generally valid cos it's stated in the diagnostic guides too about the FT sensor reading... i'm thinking now that a cause of some of the fuel pump failures is a hot running engine with very low fuel level in the tank cos there is the possibility to have 109*C ECT without even noticeing it as the gauge leaves the middle upwards only at 120*C and the electric cooing(aircon) fan provided it's not seized kicks in at 110*C to help cooling so the fuel will be ''cooled'' to 109*C and this return will heat up well the fuel in the tank if the level is very low and that's definitely not healthy for the pump
