Hi Walker
Is it possible to isolate the vacuum line????? If so you could disconnect the ends, block 1 end and pressurise from the other, then check any connections with soapy water, any leak will bubble.

Anyone know haw to find vac leaks? I have a small one in the maxi locker line. With work I have used ultrasonics to find vac leaks but this is expensive equipment which most people don't have, is there a simple way?

SubscriberI have too, but the hassle of pulling out the dash etc isn't worth it.
If its like mine it is not big enough to afrfect the engine. Just a clue, I reduced mine by cutting a little off the end of each hose at they go into those clamp fittings.

Thanks. I agree, it is a bit of a hassle to isolate the lines but it may be a last result. I have been told that soapy water will work on vac leaks also so will try that.
Unfortunatley the leak must be big enough to affect the motor as when I engage the locker I can hear the engine revs increase.
If it's affecting the revs can't be too small.
I wonder if something like CO2 would work at finding leaks in the cab ?
Would it be better to spray the connections with a compustible gas rather than CO2? If the revs change, the leak has been found.
Having said that, if the revs change when the locker is engages, then that isolates the leak to the length of line between the control valve and the locker.

Don't think I would be so game to shoot a combustible gas under the dash which is suggested where a leak could be.
If it was in an engine bay and looking for inlet manifold leaks then I'd be suggesting the aerosol method, however CO2 would be safer, non conductive, non combustible and odourless in a underdash situation.
CO2 will drop the engine revs rather than increase due to the lack of available oxygen, same result..leak will be found but in a safer manner.
Hi
If the leak is only occuring when you activate the locker, chances are the leak will be in the vacuum actuator on the locker.
