Alive tuning exhaust, inter-cooler and remap?

    Hi guys,

i own a 2013 2.2 110 wagon. I am considering buying the following from Alive tuning:

    -defender ultimate intercooler
-defender 110 tdci sports exhaust (2.2 does not come with decat option due to DPF)

My goal is to install these two items and then take my car to Bruce Davis to remap/reflash my car.

Does anyone have any experience with these Alive tuning items? If so are they great products?

I have been told that i should be able to make somewhere in the vicinity of 40% more power and torque reliably??????

Any info and help is appreciated.

Good timing on this. I am looking into doing the same thing shortly, and on going through the website, it says to have this done, but didn't think it said whether before or after. You'd think before. It'll be interesting to see results with just this done before the actual tune is done.
I'll be talking with the Melbourne crew soon.

Yes, these thoughts, re-map & intercooler are in my thoughts too.
But not seriously, to date, because being mechanically useless as I am, I'd need someone to fit it, and someone to support it, & "sort" it, if something went wrong.
So, who are the "Melbourne Crew" that you will talk to?
    Pickles.
NB: the "ideal" for me would be the "genuine" ECU & any other "factory" parts that LR have used to get 150HP & 400NM in certain "Celebration" Defenders.

Bell auto Services are who I will be contacting.
This info came through from Mike who's on here, but through the AULRO Facebook page. The goods are from the UK, but they can do the job, which is what I want, and in Melb.

I'm a bit like you, although I'm a Fitter, some things I feel, are just best left to experts, especially seeing as I'm on my second ECU. If someone's going to mess with it, I want them to be able to fix it. Like you, well I think you are, I'm off warranty, so I don't want to be paying for having the job done twice if "I" should stuff something up.
Fitting up exhaust and stuffs easy, but electrics,,, na, I don't have what it takes.

    Question

    Thanks for that.
However, I was just wondering who are the "Melbourne Crew" you are referring to when talking about your potential B.A.S. Tuning. I've read about them in the U.K....awesome reputation on Defenders & Pumas inparticular, but who is going to install/support that in Melb?
    Regards, Pickles.

Sorry Pickles, I can't seem to find it on my phone, bit strange really (??), but when I get back home, I'll look it up on the comp.
The centre was in Melb, but all the buying info was in UK. The only other place I can find with the phone, is a place in Syd and another reference for one in SA (?)
Felling somewhat confused at this point

With the 2.2 Bruce davis says he can actually install a decat. Only thing I'm worried about is turbo over spool? Anyone experience this?

    Question

    No worries Chops.
There are numerous people that do this in the U.K., but Pete Bell from Bell Auto Service (B.A.S.) seems to be the "Guru" for the UK Defender guys, but like I said, there are others.
B.A.S. have some sort of "system" whereby your tune is put on a "cloud", & from there there is an "electronic" method of (downloading?) the tune into your Defender??
But if anything went "wrong" in the process, I'd be stuffed.
In addition, a U.K. tune, may be a little "over the top" with respect to the much higher ambient temperatures that we experience in Aus, although you would hope that a better intercooler may sort that out.
I did bump into some-one from Ritters at the Wandin LR show, I think it was last year, and they mentioned the heat issue.

    G'day Pickles,
Yeah, I'm stuffed if I know what I was looking at. I'm on the comp now, cant find anything in the history to show where I was at all, so I'm at a loss to know where/what I was looking at.
But it was an Australian site/company, with direct link to the UK website. Perhaps it was just an advertisment (?). I'll kepp searching.

Its the sort of job I'm not comfortable with doing myself, which was why I got so excited when I "thought" I found someone in Melb that would do it.
I note there seems to be a few guys on here that are good with this type of stuff, and I'm hoping to see Mike at Melrose to talk to him about it, if I can get some quiet time with him. I need no interuptions to be able to take in the info and retain it

We'll see how it pans out.

    Question

No worries, please be sure to keep us posted with respect to what you are able to ascertain.
I think I've heard that Alive Tuning in the UK have done some work with a "Bruce Davis" in NSW, but I can't be sure. Too far away for me anyway.
The ideal for me would be the ability to source the genuine Landrover "Celebration Edition" parts to get a "Factory" 150HP & 400NM, which would be plenty for me.
I've no idea what these "parts" are, ECU re-map, intercooler, or whatever? But If I could source 'em, that's definitely the way I'd go.
    Pickles.
