Articulation may be defined as the difference in suspension height from one side to the other.
You lose Upward travel, as even with just a little air in the bags will prevent the axle going to maybe an inch or two of the bumpstops.
For Gavin's purposes they sound fine but if he wishes to go on challenging tracks with a load of camping gear in and the bags pumped up ( to keep the back up with his soft springs), then his ride will be markedly inferior and his ability to handle crossovers will be impaired.
Heasman even agreed with me that they cost articulation so I am not Robinson Crusoe .
My only reason in being pedantic is that Gavin should be aware of the upside and downside. I tried all sorts of things, a valve between the bags which was opened off road, taking the valves out etc. Never pinched them even with no air in.
The alternative is heavier springs, and with his static load he could probably do with 180 Lb x17 inch LRA Orange along with the polyairs , which would give him a good unladen ride and be more progressive than Polyairs alone and reduce the pressure he would need to run the polyairs at.

I would like to own three Land Rovers.
1. for commuting in comfort
2. for touring with a load
3. for challenging tracks unladen
Can't afford the luxury and besides one thing leads to the next.
So the whole exercise is a compromise.
Polyairs work for at least two out of the three and the third has not left me stuck.
