    Rangie Horn

(no, not that kind of horn  )

I'd never had cause to use the horn in the Rangie until yesterday when, on pressing the steering boss, suddenly as if by magic - nothing happened.

When I had the car stopped I could hear what sounded like a relay clicking when I pressed the boss (ie the horn switch, not Mrs Vlad). Weird thing is that the clicking seemed to come from the LH footwell area but I suppose anything is possible in a British car.

Can anyone tell me where I shoudl start in tracking this down, and where whatever parts you mentioned are located

Oh and looking at the fuse box diagram in the manual it says the no 12 fuse is one that works the horn, but also the interior light. The light is fine. However, the manual specifies a 10amp fues, and there seems to be a 30amp fuse in there...
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

go to the actual horn under the bonnet and connect up a test light to the terminal.
have mrs vlad press the horn button and see if you are getting power at the actual horn itself.

let us know the result and we will go from there.
chances are it may even be full of mud stopping it from working.

set it to 20volts DC (or the next setting up from 12v) and connect the -ve terminal(black) to the chassis or a good earth(not somewhere painted) and the +ve(red) terminal to the wire that goes to the horn.

if it all works up to there you should have around 12 volts at the horn when the horn button is pressed.

just make sure mrs vlad is pressing on the right horn!

The relay is, according to the RAVE CD, on the LH side in the footwell area behind the trim panel. Pix of location is shown on the RAVE CD.

Late edit. The fuse is no. 4, the 20A unit in the fuse box under the bonnet.

You do have the RAVE CD with the ETM?
