    Clutch Slave Cylinder!!

    Gday guys,
I am putting a new clutch slave cylinder on the Rangie and have run into a problem. I had to remove the push rod from the release lever to get the corrosion off it and now I cant get it to go back on and get the clip on to the release lever. Any ideas on this? The hole is fairly small so getting big fingers in their is difficult enough and the release lever has around 1" of play, so it pushes to the rear when trying to get the clip on. I am at my whits end now and have had enough so any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Shano
Can you tie a fine piece of wire to the clutch fork, lever it as far forward as possible with a jemmy bar(so the clutch is actually being operted),tie the wire to something substantial, release the jemmy bar,fit the pushrod and clip,re-position the jemmy bar, release the tension on the wire, remove the wire.
I have done this on non landy clutches, but I guess you dont have a lot of room with the V8 to play with.
