One of the reasons that many tyre shops do a crap job on balancing LR tyres is that they do not have an adaptor to fit the 5x6.5 PCD so they just mount by the centre hole.
I recall many moons ago that LR warned against this practice, as the centre hole is not always the centre.

I have never had a problem with this, as I am pretty sure most tyre places do it, but in some cases it can cause problems. On new cars with hub centric wheels it should not be a problem but on D1 , RRC it could be.

I guess truck places might be better.

Re beads and moisture absorbtion - Rema Tip Top markets a brand of beads called "Equal" and claim that they do not absorb moisture. They are made of thermoset resin. A packet costs about $10. They also sell a longer stem valve inset called "filtered core", about $1, and these stop the beads clogging the valve on airing down. That said., I find airing down is slightly slower.

I'm unclear about the distinction between truck and 4WD applications
