    Tick tick goes my 300tdi

Can't begin to describe my frustration, after changing my head gasket I get this noise.

Have since removed vacuum pump and the noise is still evident. The lift pump is only 2 months old, pulled injectors out and checked, checked valve clearances about 6 times.
When I pulled the head off, I checked it for straightness and stupidly decided not to get it tested (lesson learnt). So I can only guess its the head/gasket or manifold gasket or a bearing. The noise definitely seems to be coming from the top of the engine. On the initial start the noise was much worse, due to the valves clearances being totally loose, (despite me checking them prior). I'm letting the pros attack it on Wednesday, so if anyone has any other suggestions before then I'm all ears.

Also check inj stud nuts, when i first got my disco it had a light ticking noise that got steadily worse over a couple of days.
One of the inj clamp nuts were loose.

So I took the rocker off again and looked for any sign of a broken spring, found nothing. Last resort switched the rocker for one off a spare engine I have, and it worked! Not sure why, but I'm getting pretty good and adjusting valve clearances.
