yep it is not going up even after running for 15 min

and the ING light is not coming on just went to have a look

must check in the morning maybe thats all whats wrong [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

Hi kaistuff, are you sure you are reading the multi meter correctly or more to the point, are you taking your readings from a sound location.

The reason I ask is that for your battery to be at 12.6 or more, the alternator and voltage reg have to be operating at at least 13.8 and it doesn’t matter what sort of battery you have, again for the battery to read 12.6, it is fully charged and to get any vehicle battery to a fully charged level, your vehicle has to be putting out 13.8 minimum.

Even if this reading was taken while the motor is running, the battery would still go flat pretty quickly if the vehicle was only putting out 12.6 or what ever.

Another explanation might be that you have an intermittent fault where your vehicle does produce the 14 volts for a time.

another 2 hr in the garage 8) and i have located the problem
Regulator is not working
So when i bypassed the regulator i had the ignition light [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]
and after starting the engine the multimeter rose to about 14.3 volts
be for i turned the engine of [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]
but had no luck getting a new regulator to day [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img]

(my old alternator had the same problem )

now i have 80 Amp instead of 25 Amp [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]
