Airbag Replacement
Landrover service schedules indicate airbags are to be replaced every 10 years. Disco S1 updates will be starting to be due.
Has anyone replaced theirs because of the service requirement - I assume the stealers are very, very, very expensive as they have a captive market - are they available aftermarket and any ideas how much?
Thanks

Hmmm.... It'll be interesting if you can find an after market dealer as once out of the car air-bags have to be treated and handled the same as explosives!!!!

Yeah - Mark - I know - yet old ones consistently turn up on e-bay UK being sold by "landrover specialists". I suspect no one is actually replacing them because of the costs which may - or may not be a real worry. I suspect no one knows what the real shelf or installed life of the bags actually is and an arbitary time frame of 10 years was chosen. I guess the issues are deteroration of the bag itself and the ignition cartridge - I assume new ones are fully set up for transport under special arrangements.
It will be interesting to here from anyone who as actually changed them.
I guess you are still twiddling your thumbs in Melbourne waiting for your car?
