Discovery TDi Roof bars
Gday
Has anybody removed the standard LR fitted roof bars on their Disco. I have a 1997 Tdi SE7 with the standard bars fitted and due to limited garage door height, I wish to remove them. It would appear I will need to remove the roof lining and then get at what ever fittings hold the bars on. Any ideas and/or comments appreciated.
Also does anybody want / need a pair of rear Disco seats (side seats) from a SE7?
I'm in Tassie and will be removing them shortly to fit a set of draws etc.

i was thinking of removing it but after a closer look i think i cam to the conclsion that the roof has an arc in the centre which is only just below those bars so i think they are more there as a protectant than anything else.
But am probably wrong 8O

I have recently put on roof rails on my Disco 1 - you need to remove the window pillar trim, grap rails, trim around the seat belts - not all that hard to do - very, very carefully pull the headlineing down a bit and you should be able to get at the nuts that hold on the rails - they dont actually bolt to the roof panel but a reinforcing panel inside the roof.
Once the rails are removed, what do you intend to do with the four holes in the roof - suppose those old fittings to cover up old aerial holes will do but it will look a bit odd.
Hope this helps
