    heat

Hey guys, any thoughts on why my county would be getting so hot in the cab ...down the drive line from gearbox down to the rear.....any ideas on heat proofing as I`m rebuilding the dash at the moment and have no climate control and the cab gets unbearable ....the feet get hot as..
    with thanks

    G'day Brownie,

The V8's do tend to put out a lot of heat, I would be thinking of exhaust wrapping the front down pipes to the Y piece - this should help alot.

Otherwise you could by the heat reflection / absorbtion pads and cover the firewall with these?

also if you can fit a heat shield between the gearbox and the transmission tunnel and up the firewall slightly this should reduce the heat....

all it is is a piece of tin fixed 10 - 15mm from the floorpan of the car...
what you are getting is all the heat from the engine, radiator, exhaust and everything else that gives off heat under the bonnet running through and heating the vehicle from underneath.....the shield gives an air gap that prevents the heat from reaching the floorpan.
